Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation (also known as mammoplasty) may be performed to add volume and curves, even out asymmetry or restore breasts after pregnancy or aging. It is accomplished by surgically inserting an implant either beneath the breast tissue or beneath the chest wall or by injecting your fat into your breasts. During the surgery, it is common for an incision to be made either the fold under the breast, the bottom edge of the areola, or the armpit, then insert the implant behind the natural breast tissue or beneath the muscles of the chest wall. The incisions may be closed with sutures, skin adhesive or surgical tape with drains that can help the incisions heal.

Post Care:

During recovery, your breasts will be wrapped in gauze dressings and an elastic bandage or support bra will control swelling and support the breasts. In addition, small temporary drains may be placed in existing incisions beneath the skin to remove any excess blood or fluid.

We will help you:

• Take measure to reduce swelling and pain

• Manage the surgical site and drainage

• Manage your surgical bra that must be kept on at all times

• Help you sleep in a sitting position. This will reduce swelling

• Get plenty of rest

• Prepare balanced meals

• Take your pain medication as directed by your surgeon

Breast Reduction/Lift

When the breasts change shape, their structures (skin and tissue) become laxer. The effects of gravity also have an impact, causing the breasts to drop over time. The amount of sagging of a woman’s breasts can vary depending on genetics, exercise activity, and skin elasticity. Breast lift surgery can counteract these issues by repositioning the breasts to a higher, more youthful position.

An incision is made around the nipple and areola accompanied by a vertical incision below the areola with or without a horizontal incision made in the crease below the breast. For reduction of very large breasts, in some cases the nipple and areola may need to be surgically removed and reapplied as a graft. If breast size is largely due to fatty tissue and excess skin is not a factor, liposuction alone may be used in the procedure for breast reduction.

Post Care:

When your breast reduction/lift procedure is complete, dressings or bandages will be applied to the incisions. An elastic bandage or support bra may be worn to control swelling and support the breasts. In addition, a small, thin tube may be temporarily placed under the skin to drain any excess blood or fluid that may collect.

We will help you:

• Take measure to reduce swelling and pain

• Manage the surgical site and drainage

• Manage your surgical bra that must be kept on at all times

• Help you sleep in a sitting position. This will reduce swelling

• Get plenty of rest

• Prepare balanced meals

• Take your pain medication as directed by your surgeon

Abdominoplasty / Tummy Tuck

Let’s face it, working hard, losing weight and eating well can achieve the right number on the scale but sometimes there are residual pockets of fat and skin that are left hanging with your abdominal area not like you had hoped. A tummy tuck, also known as abdominoplasty, removes excess fat and sagging skin, tightens and flattens the underlying muscle structure, leaving a smoother, slimmer, firmer, more pleasing profile.

Post Care:

After an Abdominoplasty-Tummy Tuck surgery, your abdomen will be covered with surgical dressing. In many cases, there will be thin, small tubes placed around your incision in order to drain any fluid that builds up around it.

After your Abdominoplasty/Tummy Tuck, we will help you manage:

· Mild to moderate pain

· Drainage from the incisions and reapplying the compression garment

· Swelling and bruising

· Walking when your doctor recommends it - this helps to reduce swelling, lower the chance of developing blood clots and/or pneumonia, and avoid constipation.

We will contact your doctor immediately if you have:

· Severe pain within 24 hours of surgery

· Shortness of breath

· Chest pain

· Irregular heartbeats

Your incisions will likely be covered with bandages that provide gentle pressure to minimize swelling and bruising. A small tube might be placed under the skin to drain any excess blood or fluid.

It is imperative that we help you:

· Rest comfortably so that there is no pulling on the incision that could cause it to not heal properly

· Take pain medication as recommended by your doctor

· Apply cool packs to the face to ease pain and reduce swelling

Liposuction

Sometimes when traditional diets and exercise don’t work, liposuction does. Sometimes the little pockets of stubborn fat just won’t go away even after you’ve lost weight. Liposuction is an effective way to remove fat by selectively dislodging and removing the cells with a tube and suction device. Once the fat cells are gone, they won’t come back helping to sculpt a sleek silhouette that is more pleasing in appearance.

Post Care:

During your liposuction recovery, a compression garment or elastic bandages may cover treatment areas once your procedure is completed. These help to control swelling and compress the skin to your new body contours. In addition, small temporary drains may be placed in existing incisions beneath the skin to remove any excess blood or fluid.

We will help you:

• Manage the surgical site and drainage

•Take measure to reduce swelling and pain

• Get plenty of rest

• Prepare balanced meals

• Increase more raw fruit to your diet, in addition to increasing fluid intake to prevent constipation

• Take your pain medication as directed by your surgeon

Vaginoplasty/Labiaplasty

Vaginal muscles can loosen due to aging or genetics, but the main reason for laxity is usually childbirth, when the vaginal tissue gets stretched and the underlying muscles start to separate.  Vaginoplasty is done to help tone and tighten, reshape and restore structure and function.  In addition, it can tighten the pelvic floor muscles,  fix genetic deformations, and also repair stretching from natural childbirth.

Labiaplasty, which alters the appearance of the vulva, can be performed as a discrete surgery to correct or restore and can be done at the same time as a Vaginoplasty.

Post Care:

During surgery, the tissues are tightened with strong sutures. Once the vaginal canal has been tightened, the mucosal skin is sutured closed. If there is external skin that protrudes, this can be reduced as well for a more aesthetic result.

After your Vaginioplasty/Labiaplasty, we will help you manage:

· Mild to moderate pain

· Drains, packing or bandages that provide gentle pressure

· Swelling and bruising

· Your activity. You will most likely be restricted to bed rest to avoid undue stress on your wound site. After a couple of days, you will be able to begin light walking

We will contact your doctor immediately if you have:

· Severe pain within 24 hours of surgery

· Shortness of breath

· Chest pain

· Irregular heartbeats

It is imperative that we help you:

· Rest comfortably so that there is no pulling on the incisions that could cause it to not heal properly

· Take pain medication as recommended by your doctor

· Apply cool packs to the face to ease pain and reduce swelling
